Hi about to pass 1000 km in my new daily driver and already at the first driver from my local BMW dealer indicated the car that driver assistance was restricted.
Since then have I experienced this 4-5 times and today the car was checked and no error codes were found.
Anyone else that have experienced the same?

Sorry for the delay in replying, yes, I have had the same message a couple of times. I cleaned the top of windscreen in front of the camera and applied Rain-Ex to help keep it clean. I haven't had the problem since and my iX1 is now 6 months old….enjoying it more every day!
Hi,
I am driving in Norway. This message pops up almost every drive, if you have the Lane departure warning on. If you have the lane departure warning off, this message will pop up less frequently.
If you read the functional requirements for Assisted driving mode - they say: lane should be sufficiently wide, sufficient wide curve radius, lane boundries detected, the driver attention camera should detect driver is looking at traffic situation, car in front detected, etc If One of the above is not met, your Driver assistance is restricted for that drive, til you stop and restrat.
and if you do one of the following:
Sudden Accelerations, lane changing without indicator lights, going too close to vehicle ahead, snappy manevours, fiddling with driver assist settings while using it, etc will normally get this ''driver assistance restricted'' message. I dont believe direct sunlight or rain has to do something with it - the system is designed for tht.
